    Random Reboots

I think you are right, one more try with a different PSU then on to a new board (non-2011-3)

Yes 1902 ,which has been beta since March. Did it as an attempted fix for the other issue

Not yet still trying to figure out why these drives aren't working since the only thing I changed is the PSU connector. Will try that next.

    Random Reboots

I thought I was finished, now my other drives don’t show in windows. They show and are identified in the bios but not when I boot. Haven’t played with it yet but starting to wonder again if the PSU might be faulty. In addition to reseating the cpu I changed out the slots the leads were plugged...

    Random Reboots

Well I think I fixed it, although I can't pinpoint what the problem was. I re-seated the CPU applying thermal paste. I booted up and crashed after resetting to system defaults and wouldn't post after several tries. So I again re-seated the CPU and pulled out the PSU and reconnected everything...

    Random Reboots

Thanks Wolfie, my thoughts as well. The X99 had a very short run. Finally have a dump file to share, probably due to all my other changes etc. rather than the original issue. See what folks think. The symptoms again: Now shuts down like clockwork, in reviewing the event viewer shuts down...

    Random Reboots

One more hint that it is definitely hardware related. When I boot into the bios it re-boots in about 15 minutes with no activity. But what hardware motherboard or SSD. Best guess is mobo. Any recommendations on a replacement since I am stuck with a LGA -2011-v3 socket with my i7-6850, unless...

    Random Reboots

I know everyone is getting a bit bored with this. Tried running Windows memory diagnoses crashed before completed - this is new so: Removed 2 of the memory modules - no change Removed other 2 and replaced with first 2 - no change Replaced GPU with another GPU - no change No rebooting while idle...

Successfully installed firmware but problem persists. Rebooted when running stress test under Realbench. Don't think it was temp related it crashed while at 51 degrees. It weathered the RealBench benchmark but crashed under the stress test.

    Random Reboots

Tried all of the suggestions. reset bios to default set ram to 2400 took off doors and cleaned out dust from all intake fans All fans functioning optimally cpu temp at 29 at idle 49 under load Still restarts expectantly when switching programs. ASUS has a beta firmware dated 4/18 for this board...

    Random Reboots

No not sure. Both 12 and 3.3 volts are within normal range and stable in the bios. Do you know any other way to check other than changing out? Reboot happens when I switch programs, so maybe a slight voltage spike then? Parts are all just under a year old but that doesn't mean much. In what...

    Random Reboots

Thanks Wolfie, I'll do that Saltgrass , VLC is not usually up when it shuts down, that was just a one time test loaded with other apps on a clean boot.. I was just on a skype conference call with 4 others. It shut down twice. nothing else loaded the second time. It never shuts down when idle...

    Random Reboots

I did. Rebooted while switching switching out of VLC media player to outlook. 90% of the time when it shuts down it is when I switch between apps or programs. I do usually have 3 or 4 apps open outlook, excel, chrome, word, etc, while working. What happens when you switch between apps? Where...

    Random Reboots

It doesn't show much. Description: The previous system shutdown at 11:59:03 AM on ‎10/‎1/‎2018 was unexpected This shutdown happened when I clicked over to Ten Forum on your email notice of comment. Any thought on which component is the most likely suspect I should switch out first? M.2 Drive?
