    Windows doesn't need an excuse

I have 2 screens hooked to my desktop. I stream to my TV so I use an HDMI splitter. Last Win10 update I lost my TV connection. Unplug, re-plug, no connection. Unplug, reboot, re-plug. Nope. 10 minutes online searching, no good. Just for grins and giggles I swapped the connections to the HDMI...

Interesting. I had server errors earlier each time I tried to post. Nothing like repitition!! Back to the subject. I have been on the Windows Insider program for a long time. According to MS my Win10 is tied to my account so authorizing should not be aproblem. Ptograms I worry about.

    Motherboard Replacement

I have a system I built several years ago. It runs great and is faster than some factory built PC's I have seen. The other day I found a MB and an AMD CPU just like what I have, new in the box and at a decent price. My question is if I need to replace the MB and swap it for an identical...

    Chrome has been vanquished

Wow, where have I been? I think it's great as well. It has some really nice features, good control and is responsive. Thank you again! Good advice.

    Chrome has been vanquished

Never used Opera before but I just spent a few minutes reading about it. It's got a great rating so I'll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll report back on my Chrome findings.

    Chrome has been vanquished

That word "initiating" started me thinking about Win 10 updates. This last occurrence of Chrome going nuts happened right after the latest Win 10 upgrade. I had taken steps to block it. I do backups weekly and am on the Windows Insider Program so I get updates fairly often. Maybe the updates...

    Chrome has been vanquished

I run ESET. I have for years. Also my security is set to the highest level. Regular scans and backups. It's a known issue, not just me experiencing it.

    Chrome has been vanquished

Already been done. After a couple of weeks it returns. The thing I hate is t will max out the CPU's and you can actually sit there and watch the temp rise 20 degrees.

    Chrome has been vanquished

Do a search for Software Reporter Tool. Seems to be an ongoing problem. Firefox is OK but seems to take longer to load pages. I am on the Windows Insider and Edge has improved. They may use the Google Chromium rendering for their newest browser but hopefully it won't include Chromes reporter...

    Chrome has been vanquished

"Google Chrome users may have two main issues with the Software Reporter Tool: It may cause a high system load when it scans the system. User reports range from it using 30% and more CPU while running. " No kidding?? Chrome is dead on my system. I have tried every possible method to shut this...

    Risky connection blocked

I have used ESET for years. I had two virus that caused a complete rebuild years ago. One using Norton and one with McAfee. I started using ESET antivirus and have had no problems. My security is set high and I do get alerts, but nothing has got through.

    Windows 10 on an SSD

Sorry I was not clear. Samsung told me the transfer cannot be over 80%. This was using their data migration program.

    Windows 10 on an SSD

My Samsung SSD said the drive has to be no more that 80%. A 240gb drive can use only 192gb. That is per Samsung. My 500gb drive transfer went to 411gb. I went to a 1tb drive.
