    SOLVED 2004 update

Funny! No roller ball anymore. :-) Had to stick with it - can't afford to buy another 17" laptop. On another note, I have a 15" Acer Aspire that was brought to me today. It needed some updates but I'm wondering if I should do the 2004 update while I have it here. After all my trials and...

    SOLVED Win 2004 became unstable

I stand by my comments. I have 3 windows machines and I know what I'm doing to keep them running smoothly. I still do tech work where I live and I'm the one 'streamlining' all their machines. I do backups - had one when the 2004 caught me. I'm quite good with PC's. One point you may or...

    SOLVED Win 2004 became unstable

You are giving Microsoft a lot of credit here. There has never been a smooth, out of the box, upgrade for any version from the start with Win 3.1. I have had every version they have put out (except Vista, wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole) and if you go back in time you will see...

    SOLVED Win 2004 became unstable

Wow! Microsoft finally got something right? lol Well, I'm finally using my laptop again. I'm up and running 10 Pro and it seems to be ok. I still think I'll wait a bit to add Edge. :-)

    SOLVED Win 2004 became unstable

Thanks for the post. When I get a stable laptop running Windows 10 Pro with all my files back in place I 'might' just try it. I have used Chrome for years but there are times when it hogs too much of the system. I switched to FF a few months ago and hated it every day I used it and found it...

SOLVED Unhappy camper with update to 2004

I can't comment on the modem part as I've never done that. I can tell you that metered through Windows has worked for me through many updates. This time when I got in trouble I had unchecked it for some reason (I remember doing it but not why) and forgot to check it again. My bad and boy am I...

SOLVED Unhappy camper with update to 2004

From my experience over the years and for further reference about upgrades: Microsoft has always given out beta versions of their newest version to beta testers and they fix problems given to them by the beta testers. Then they open it up to the rest of us "testers" to find all the rest of the...

    SOLVED Win 2004 became unstable

When in this situation can't you can just go back to the original Internet Explorer. It's in the Start menu under Windows Accessories. So far I've found nothing good about Edge. :-(

    SOLVED 2004 and malwarebytes

Wish I had known this before I had all my problems. :)

    SOLVED 2004 update

Until I'm up and running Win 10 Pro ver 1909 I can't say it's solved. However, I will mark it solved and start a new one if I have problems again.

Can’t load Windows after crash, can’t reinstall from Flash Drive

I've had similar problems and have 2 other posts in here about my journey. One thing I can suggest is to buy an external HD case for your SSD and hook it up to another computer to see if you can salvage any of the files on it before you end up with a brick like I did. I was lucky in that I was...

SOLVED Windows 10 version 2004 update

From my own personal experience and h*ll, I'd advise you to stop trying to update to 2004 and wait a month before trying again. It crashed my computer and it's been a week of work to get it back to working and I still don't know if it's stable. :-)

    SOLVED 2004 update

I've been a Windows user since 3.1 and am pretty good with it. I'm not so sure, after all these years, I'm up to trying a new OS especially on my most trusted laptop. I finally got Windows 20 Home installed on it. More info under Reinstalling without OS in here. Thanks for the info though...
