Well .... it's update Tuesday again and it seems we've gotten another cumulative update
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176495)
Which has jumped the build from .10 to .51
Wondering now, if there are any fixes for any of the problems people seem to be having with this Anniversary Edition upgrade.

Doesn't look like it

From what I can tell there are some minor bug fixes some of which only affect those using Windows phones, however it may improve things for those have mouse event issues from time to time.

I have trouble in computer land. This morning I turned on both HP PC's with WIN10-Home and WIN10-PRO. And what do I get for this.... one with Pro is showing update(s) downloading. When it finished, I had a new Cumulative Update Version 1607 for X64-based Systems (KB3176495) This is good...One would guess at this time. Never know what MS is shoving down our PC throat.

Now comes the PC with WIN10-Home. It wouldn't load windows at start-up. Few minutes later it started showing reverting back to previous OS. After about one hour it is showing "Installing Windows" After the installation, I now have Windows 10-Home with Build 1511. So, it appears I'm back to the original WIN10 upgrade. minus the Anniversary upgrade I did last week.

My thinking today is... inserting the Windows 7 discs and back to Windows 7 and to hell with Microsoft crazy way of doing upgrading a computer

My 2012 i3, 6gb ram, Dell Inspiron 660 Windows 10 Home desktop still has v1511. Never did update to v1607. Due to my slow DSL (1.27 Mbps), the following has always been turned OFF - 'Get updates from & send updates to other PCs on the internet'

Yesterday PC did download and install kb3176493, kb890830, and kb3172729 (maybe). v1511 build did change from 10586.494 to 10586.545 yesterday.

I don't plan on doing any manual updating. Checked for updates today, and says 'Your device is up to date'.

I'm with you TJ. My laptop did an auto update to 545 - and it can stay there until they fix all the bugs in 1607.

August 9, 2016 — KB3176495 (OS Build 14393.51)
This update includes quality improvements and security fixes. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key changes include:
  • Improved reliability for Internet Explorer 11.
  • Addressed issue to keep pen click settings after updating to Windows 10 Version 1607.
  • Addressed issue that may cause Windows 10 Mobile devices to hang after turning Bluetooth on and off very quickly.
  • Security updates to Kernel Mode Drivers, Microsoft Graphics Component, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, and Windows Authentication Methods.
I got this on my surface book but not on my Alienware.

Whatever .51 did with Edge has caused several sites I log in to not to respond. .67 hasn't helped.

Cumulative update to 187 plus a MRST update makes it quite big even on fast machines. But it works on all of mine...no funny behavior on the two Intel PCs, the ancient AMD Phenom 3 is still crunching away.

Been There That's what I did on my laptop, dumped Win 10, clean install of Win 7. Been using Win 7 for almost a month it's a pleasure. My desktop Win 10 Pro sits idle with the Ethernet cable unplugged. I wont use it as long as MS keeps stealing bandwidth to update other PCs on the internet. Why should I have to pay for a multi million dollar 2 bit outfit to deliver their updates to other users on the internet. At the beginning of the month, I observed 3GB of data disappear before I could intervene.

Tim Believe it or not, it was turned off. With updates turned OFF MS have said you will still receive security updates but no apps or other MS updates. I think the On Off button is to make users feel good.

I was ONLY talking about Windows update updating /being updated by other machines. You are going to get updates to your machine no matter what you do short of using the Pro version or an Enterprise licence

My Windows 10 was automatically updated yesterday mid-day to:
upload_2016-9-14_20-40-14.png

It took ages. It is probably too soon to say, but since then (34 hours later) I haven't had any of the freezes which machines with their C: drive on an SSD are prone to.

My 4 PCs here all have SSDs as their C drives and they have had no freezes. FWIW they are all 240/256 GB Samsung 840/850 EVO drives.
