32-bit, 64-bit or Both?

Hello,

Using the Windows media creation tool to prep a clean install of Windows 10.

However, ran into this question: What architecture does my system have?

System properties show 64-bit. Duh! But my system is also capable of running 32-bit applications (from my "Program Files (x86)" folder, I imagine).

So, what's my architecture? Is it 64-bit ALONE or BOTH 32-bit and 64-bit?

Thanks for any clarification! :)

That is the wrong approach.

Initial upgrade of Windows 10 MUST be done either via Windows Update or by "in-place" upgrade using an ISO file.
You do NOT do upgrade by Clean Install.
Once you have successfully upgraded to Windows 10 AND activated, then you can do a clean install any time you want, but not before.

Pick 64-bit Download.
64-bit OS can run 32-bit programs , and most programs are still 32-bit which is why you see a Program Files (x86) folder in your C drive.
