Has anyone got a remedy clicking on the app store icon desktop or main menu fails to activate the programme it just
flashes over what ever screen I am in then disappears, have restored the system but no joy am using windows 10

Do you mean you did an in-place upgrade of Windows 10, or that you ran a restore point?


In the meanwhile some options that may help get the Store app working:

• Right-click on Start > then left-click on Run
• In the Run Dialog type wsreset.exe then click OK
  
  This clears the Store cache which sometimes when corrupted prevents Store working
  
  
  
• If the Store app still refuses to open and work then try the following.
• Right-click on Start > then left-click on Command Prompt (Admin)
• When the UAC confirmation window pops up click Yes
• At the Administrator command prompt C:\Windows\System32> type or copy & paste the following:
  
  

  powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

  
  Press Enter key to execute command.
  
  When done type exit then press Enter key to close command window.
  
  
  
• If that too does not get the Store app working, then:
• Go to Microsoft's page: https://solutions.diagnostics.support.microsoft.com/run/6b089dc3-50d6-4add-9959-337fca72c533#
• Click Run on that page to allow Microsoft to download a tool that will check settings and correct anything that is wrong.

If you still have no joy then doing an in-Place upgrade of Windows 10 ought to restore all universal apps including of course Store. If it gets to this point let the forum known and someone will assist you with how to do an in-Place upgrade while keeping your personal files and third party applications you've installed.
