Since the latest (and last ?) Win10 update, the only way I have been able to reach a functional desktop, is to diskscan my system drive from another disk - which finds NO errors - then tap F8 while booting - which may or may not lead to Safe Mode. Then a message displays, warning me not to remove the USB (which I had not inserted anyway). Without that procedure, the display is simply the dotted circle going round and round. HOW can I get back to reliable and fussless booting to a usable desktop ?

It turns out that it is a peculiarity of a particular drive - it does not happen with other drives that are clones of the system.

Does the drive show as removable?
Is the drive showing as basic or dynamic?
