Cannot Install KB 3081438

PC is a Lenovo x64 SL510 running Windows 10 home. When it is installing the update, it gets to about 60% and then the laptop reboots. After the reboot it tries to continue, but then reports it cannot apply the update and is rolling back.

I have downloaded the kb update and tried a local install, but the results are the same.

I have tried stopping the Windows update service, and removing all files from c:\windows\softwaredistribution\datastore and c:\windows\softwaredistribution\download also with no success.

I'm at my wits end. Is there any way I can install this update?
