Cannot launch Edge

hi
i bought a laptop in 2012, with windows 7. upgraded to windows 10, when the free upgrade came. everything was working fine.
few weeks ago, windows/ microsoft?, did updates in my lap, and now, i cannot launch microsoft edge, as browser, not launch outlook email,
what happened?
right now, im happy to use google as my browser , email, etc.
could not care if i do not have edge

October 2012 I bought a 2012 Dell i3 desktop with Windows 7 from Dells website (at the time Dell also sold Windows 8 computers). My 2012 Dell got the free upgrade to Windows 10 also. Currently have Windows 10 Home, version 1703, build 15063.608 . Everything on this 2012 Dell is working perfect (Edge, Microsoft Office Starter 2010 (Office Starter installed by Dell for free)), I don't use Outlook email. Sometimes I use Chrome (with YouTube Adblock) and Edge at the same time. Stream YouTube Live streams on Chrome, and surf forums with Edge.
