Can't get the 'blue' off my screen

I have changed colors as directed and it works in the task bar, but the overall background screen is still Microsoft Blue. I am running a slide show and would prefer the entire screen behind the pictures be black. How can I accomplish this?

Right click on the Home screen, then click on Personlize, Colors. Choose your background color there.
