Can't Open Start Menu

Upgraded last night, everything was fine but slow. Restarted computer this morning, start menu won't open. I've tried restarting my computer several times and that didn't work. What else can I do?

Have you installed any dated applications? I'm not absolutely positive (haven't tested my theory thoroughly), but I think Nero 10 will break the Start Menu. There may be other applications that do the same.

Contact Dell tech support to create a new user id and move all your stuff over. The old id has been corrupted by Microsoft's last update of a month ago.
