SOLVED Can't Sign-in With Micrsoft Account

I am enjoying my upgrade of Windows 10 except for I can't sign-in with my Microsoft account. I went from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. I can log in with a local account (same as Windows 7). I can't download any apps from the Windows Store, Microsoft Edge doesn't work like it should. Any suggestions? BTW, when I click on "sign in with Microsoft account instead" in the settings, a window wants to pop up but suddenly disappears. Thanks for any help.

If you have installed a deal of software, this solution may be a nuisance, but, open a new local account, with a password, and log out and into that account, then try the Ms account again.

Thanks brother! Your suggestion worked. I had tried it before but for some reason it didn't work. I will pass the info. along.
