Change sound for new mail in Outlook

I want to change the sound when I get new email. I go to 'control panel' and select 'hardware & sound'. I click on 'change system sound' and get the pop up listing all of the events and related sounds. I then scroll down to two notifications for new email. I don't know which is the one I want so I change the sound for both to a .wav file I have recorded and saved in 'my documents'. This works for awhile and then stops working. Maybe because I turn off my computer every night (which shouldn't happen as it never did when I was using windows 7 and then 8.1). Anybody have any ideas on how to make the change permanent?
