I have two computers. Somehow they are set up differently and I can't find out how to make them the same.

Under.. control panel>user accounts>manage accounts>change an account....
On Computer A:
Make changes to Jims account
Change the account name
Change the password
Change the Account type
Manage another account

The text by the picture is..
Jim
local account
administrator
password protected.

On Computer B:
Make changes to Jims account
Change the Account type
Manage another account

The text by the picture is..
Jim Jones
(e-mail address removed)
administrator
password protected.

My question is, what is the difference. Is one computer connected to Microsoft and one is local? Why does one say local account and the other (e-mail address removed)? How do I change from one setup to the other and why would I want to?
Thanks for the help.

The account on computer B is a Microsoft account, and you can switch it back to a local account.

Why would I want one as a microsoft account and the other local. Is there an advantage of one over the other?
