Copy-Paste from taskbar recent files is not working

In the taskbar, any MS Office software shortcut (power point, excel, Word, etc.) can be right-clicked and recent files appear. from this recent file menu, I used to be able to copy paste the files to any location, including into Outlook e-mails. this was extremely convenient! Since Windows 10 update, this option, although still appearing (I see the "copy" option by right-clicking the recent file) does not paste!!! What is going on? how do I correct this?
