Creators: Longer Login?

Downloaded and abandoned Creators.
Takes about 2 minutes to go from Pin entry to desktop.
Restored previous version.
This brings up a couple of questions:
Is my machine Unique? [additional Pin to Desktop time]
With an SSD hard drive: is there a way to optimize the additional wait time,
Because the drive is solid state: Norton warns against even boot time optimizations much less defrag.
Running HP Envy laptop [i7 6500] Less than a year old. Came with W 10 installed.

Hi wbajr,

do you have a lot of apps starting in the background?, this would slow your start-up to a crawl if you do?.

Ctrl + Alt + Del > Task Manager > Start-up and disable what you don't need.

Actually I have noticed the exact opposite with Creators on my 7 yo laptop...my boot time is significantly shorter from push of button to desktop.

You might want to try clean booting your system as described here

Easily done, easily undone.
Basically you're just disabling all the Startup Items and All non-Microsoft services.
Be sure to check the box to hide Microsoft Services, as you don't want to accidentally disable any of those.

Get rid of Norton which likely accounts for the slow startup.
It was good 20 years ago, but no more.
