Ejecting Hard Drives and Flash Drives ...

Is it safe to keep my Hard Drives and Flash Drives always connected (Windows 10), even when shutting down, or should I use the Eject feature to safely remove all external drives … ?

It's fine. I used to always keep my external drive connected. I just plug it in to do my weekly backup and unplug it now in the remote possibility I get a virus or something that would infect my backups. But there's no reason you should have to unplug them.
