Error message/lost apps icons.

I'm not sure this is the right place for this question but I need assistance. I have windows 10 on a Nextbook 10in. 2in1. When I start it no icons show on the home page and when I press the start key the icon that should bring up all the apps does nothing.
I also get an (fatal error) message as follows. <elementtree.pyd Could Not Be Extracted> . How can I extract elementtree.pyd and will this clear up my missing app icons??
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
