To use fast boot or not to use fast boot? Windows by default has this enabled. So why do I see a lot of chatter about disabling this feature and why?

Who knows?
I've seen it linked to various problems usually associated with the Shutdown power option but also sometime with various power saving schemes.
I think it (and this is just me imagining that I actually know stuff) that any problems with fast boot is probably going to turn out to be either
Older hardware or third party drivers
OR
A combination of the two.

Right there with you....lol.

Is yours enabled? Mine is....but after reading a bunch of articles about it....it seems sketchy and then the flip side it's exactly what a OS needs.

It really depends on if you have boot issues. I've had PC's that would boot to black screen and require a reboot to boot properly with it on. I do have it enabled on my main PC as it still has an old spinning hard drive. It does boot much faster with it on.
