HARD DRIVE WILL NOT DEFRAG

WHEN I GO TO DEFRAG IT WILL SAY I NEED TO OPTIMIZE MY C DRIVE, BUT WHEN I DO THIS IT KEEPS COMING BACK AS 31% FRAGMENTED, I HAVE 98.2 GB FREE OF 192GB. IT WORKED O.K. ON W7 BUT WILL NOT WORK ON W10. CAN AHY BODY PLEASE HELP

What program are you using to "optimize" your computer ?

Just for your reference only. This is what I use ..........
For over 3 years no, I use Auslogics Disk Defrag to do the disk defrag and Ccleaner ( free edition ) to do disk cleanup.
I don't use the built-in applications anymore.

Is it a SSD by chance???? or normal HDD?

Either way I agree with Davidhk129.... Auslogics free defrag app is one of the best choices for that task.
