Trying to set up Home Networking.
Wish to find idstore.sst in order to delete it
understand this is the address:-
c:\windows\serviceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking.
But I don't seem to have LocalService!
How to find Local Service and idstore.sst?
Thank you,

Have you double checked
services.msc
and confirmed that the following services are not "disabled"
peer network grouping
peer network identity manager
homegroup listener
homegroup provider

Right click each and see if you can start them.
Are you receiving any errors?
Have you checked Event Viewer for any possible information?

Hi,
Thanks for your note and reply as follows:-

peer network grouping - shown as set at auto but wont start and get error 1068
peer network identity manager - auto and running
homegroup listener - auto and running
homegroup provider - auto and running

ref Event Viewer I did open this but looks a bit gobbledegook to me ...so wonder if the above info is adequate for you to advise further at the mo?
Thanks

That would seem to indicate that there is a problem with the dependency
Peer Networking Grouping dependencies seem to be
Peer Name Resolution Protocol and Peer Networking Identity Manager
Can you start Peer Name Resolution Protocol?

No, Peer Name Resolution Protocol is set at manual and when I try to start it I get:-

error 1079 The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process.

H E L P!!..how can this be so difficult!?..

..I just want to create a homegroup with my two pc's..and can I do that?...No! :)

Anyone want to hold my hand and get to the bottom of this?

From advice given so far these may be the issues:-

Peer Networking Grouping is stopped and when try to start get error 1068
Peer Name Resolution Protocol is stopped and when try get error 1079

I found MachineKeys folder and renamed it Old, created a new MachineKeys folder and gave it Full control everyone

Found idstore.sst and deleted it but notice its reappeared!?
also is a file called idstore.sst.lkg which I didn't touch
also there is a file called idstore.sst.new which again I didn't touch

And when I try to set up a Homegroup just get the same old info..
Windows Can't set up a homegroup on this computer!!!
