Hi all,
if you haven't heard about it, W10 S is the newer version of W10 designed for educators but you can only install apps from the store. my question is, how much are the EU going to fine MS for hogging the market and excluding other software providers if they don't play Microsofts game?.
From their FAQ page:
"Windows 10 S works exclusively with compatible apps from the Windows Store. Since Windows 10 S has just been recently announced, we are working with our partners on app compatibility and to provide more detailed information. Please check with your app publisher or back on this page in June for the latest information. Many hardware peripherals (such as printers) that work with Windows 10 today will work with Windows 10 S, but may have limited functionality. Since Windows 10 S has just been recently announced, we are working with our partners to provide more detailed information. Please check with your hardware manufacturer or back on this page in June for the latest information.".

I know that they are working with their partners but what about software devs that aren't their partners?. What about your old favourite game/other software that isn't available and is locked out because it isn't in the store?.
I reckon this could cost MS about 1 Billion Euro's in a fine, what do you think?.
I should also mention that you can unlock the lockout by paying MS another $50 (US) on top of the cost of the device so you can install any app you like!.
