When I installed Windows 10, my existing folders and their content files were marked read only. Following the normal process for correcting this situation has failed. I am an administrator on my PC, but that is not recognized when I attempt to remove the "read only" status. Do you have any suggestions as to how to proceed?

Thank you.

Hi William,

Could you clarify what you mean by "Following the normal process for correcting this situation has failed"?

What precisely did you attempt to do?

The symptom you are describing suggests a Permissions issue (probably inherited from the original installation of your previous Windows OS prior to your upgrade to Windows 10.

Are you familiar with how to change permissions for folders and/or files?

Let us know if not and someone will assist you. Just remember to let us know also, what you meant by above comment.

Regards,
