My Realtec HD Audio manager quit working and can not be found anywhere.
All tips from searches online provided no solution.
In Device Manager I was not able to update the Realtec HD Audio driver because I had the latest one already installed.
I have downloaded the new driver .cab file but again was again not able to add / install it through the Device Manager for same reason.
Tried the Admin command prompt following the explicit directions of how to install CAB file in Windows 10:
1. Open an elevated command prompt.
2. Enter the command below into the elevated command prompt, and press Enter.
DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:"Full path of .cab file"

This is my input:

I simply would like to have my Audio manager working again - there are no audio controls in Windows 10 only volume.
Please help with a working solution?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you Dave, that is a good tip.
I was not idle meantime.
I could download anew and try again to properly install it, but already found mine.
The manager/driver is there but not working, why is the question.
Long standing fact is the MS always trying to eliminate anything is not MS or a bit older. Could be it.
I have found the Realtec directory in C:/Program Files/Realtec/Audio/HDA/ so it is still installed.
However as other forum tips I followed, the Manager file has different name so I could not find it.
There are several exe files in the directory, but they do not run even in Admin mode - except one:
The Manager file has a large 3D speaker icon attached to it - it is RtkNGUI64.exe for my version of the driver.
I had to select Run as Administrator to get it running - and yes it is the vanished manager - now working fine.
Also have run "Troubleshoot compatibility" it is Windows 8 program, and additional permission - Run as Administrator.
However I am still unable to run it from neither Startup Menu, nor from a Desktop shortcut - why I still have to figure out.
It does start from the original installation directory, and if minimized it stays in the tray working fine.
hope this will help someone too.
Again, thanks Dave. much appreciate your thought
