Hyperlinks in emails all going to IE11 Homepage

I'm a newby here but can't see any other references to this.

Set up Windows 10 last week, running IE11 set as the default browser and MS Office 2003 with Outlook set as default email.

All fine to start with, then clicking any hyperlink in an email opens IE on my homepage, not the link target.

Uninstalled and reinstalled MS Office yesterday and all was ok again.

Today the problem has returned.

If I set MS Edge as the default browser, all email hyperlinks work ok.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Interesting ... haven't heard of this one yet.
Does it make a difference if IE is closed or open when you click the link in the email?

IDK.... maybe reset IE to factory defaults and see if that changes anything.
I know this is not helpful and not what you want to here, but my Outlook 2013 emails that contain a hyperlink, all work as you would expect.

Ok thanks Trouble, I'll give it a try.

Incidentally, my wife has Outlook 2013, we upgraded her laptop to Windows 10 and, like you, no problems.

Unfortunately that didn't work.

I've just re-installed Office 2003 and at the moment the links are working.

Let's see how long it lasts before I have to go to another email program.

Is there anything new on this. I have the exact same problem. Has Outlook-2003 continued to work properly. I too am using that version. If I change my default browser to Firefox, it works just fine out of Outlook. And, maybe that's just what I should do.
