I cannot get get Chromecast to work on Windows 10.

Have you downloaded Chrome its self as I believe the above will only work if that is installed,
I know on my phone that is how it works but don't have it on laptop

Yep,you'll need to install Chrome and install the Chromecast extension and voila...cast away!
Windows 10 "cast to device" that you find on right click for whatever reason fails to work ( although imo it should! )
I've been casting from my laptop using Chrome and extension without problems..it's cool as hell!
