Hi,

Logon to your Computer as the Administrator then do the following:
  • Press Winkey + R to open Run dialog
  • Type C:\Users | click OK
    • Note: If your Windows OS is not installed on the C Partition replace C:\ with the correct assigned letter for the partition it is installed on.
  • Click the View tab | place a checkmark next to Hidden items
  • Right click on the Default folder | Rename this to Default.OLD
  • Next right click inside the "C:\Users" folder | Select New > Folder | Name the new folder Default
  • Now double click on your new Default folder to open | You should now be here: C:\Users\Default
  • Inside your new Default folder you need to create several new folders and sub folders. Follow these steps carefully:
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder AppData
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Desktop
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Documents
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Downloads
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Favorites
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Links
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Pictures
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Save Games
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Videos
  • Next double click the AppData folder you just created to open it. You ought to be here:
    • C:\Users\Default\AppData
    • Inside this folder create two new folders like so:
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Local
    • Right Click | Select New > Folder | Name this folder Roaming
  • Remove the checkmark next to Hidden items and close folder
  • Next press Winkey +X | Select Command Prompt (Admin)
  • Type the following command (or copy & paste it) into the Command Prompt Window. Note: You will need to replace USERNAME with the username you used for the Profile you are unable to log in to:
    • xcopy C:\Users\USERNAME\NTUSER.DAT C:\Users\Default
    • Press Enter key to execute the command
    • Type Exit to close the Command Console window

OK you are now ready to recreate the User Profile you were unable to log in to. Do that as you did before.

The above steps simply remove all possibility of a corrupted profile interfering with the process.

Happy Computing.
