SOLVED Lost Favorites Bar

I can't figure out how to add new favorites to my favorites bar since going to windows 10. I click on the star to add and click on "add" but nothing happens. Any ideas?

To add to the favourites bar (rather than just favourites), first make sure that you've got it set to display. If you right click somewhere on the white part of the IE window at the top and make sure that "favourites bar" is ticked:

Then, when clicking on the star and "add to favourites", make sure you add the site to the "Favourites Bar" folder:

After trying several times,I saw that I had a "lock" on my favorites bar. After removing the lock your solution worked fine. Thank you for the info.
