Media Player Shuts Down

Why does Windows Media Player always shut down when I try to use it! Pop-up says will be reported for solution. I can't uninstall it and re-install.

You might try using the Programs and Features applet in the Control Panel -> Left Column -> Turn Windows features on or off
Then from the list select "Media Features" uncheck "Windows Media Player" click OK.
Reboot and then go back and re-check it and click OK
See if the shakes anything loose.

Tried it twice.....still shuts down when attempting to play mp3 files. Any other ideas?
