I run two dell desktops, both exactly the same configuration; or as it appears maybe not!

I lost all my record collection when my last desktop died; hence I now have the pair, with one to mirror the other

I have ripped some of my CD’s (the same one’s) to both PC's, and today I copied a couple more.
On one PC no problem but when I tried to do the same to the other, it simply ejects the CD!
No error message; absolutely nothing

My teckie knowledge is thin, so I am bemused to say the very least.
I am sure that there is a simple solution, but there again I am also simple!

So any advice will be appreciated

ditto!
I am also having issues with media player.
sometimes it will not allow me to rip.
and sometimes it will not allow me to rename.
is there a better 3rd party software available?

Because variety is the spice of life..;)
Just a side note on the VLC download, I would recommend if you do choose to use it to download it from their ( the author's) website and steer away from third-party sites like Softonic...as you never know what other goodies might be in that file.
