Please, make it your goal to stop worrying about how your software LOOKS! Or, for that matter what more it can do!

AND JUST MAKE IT RUN FASTER!

You have slowed it to the point of a crawl with all this crap bloatware and personal information STEALING - depsite how much you would like to claim it's faster - IT IS NOT - do not try to tell someone doing essentially the same things on a computer for the last 20 years that this is an improvement - it is NOT...

I use this thing for WORK! - I would like to be able to start my work when I turn this thing on - not 30 minutes later. And, I would like to be able to get at least one thing done in course of my 'work' day.

You are continually screwing up the most basic things such as printing or networking. Your Office Suite is a joke - how many years in and I can't cut and paste something from Excel to Word without it crashing.

Just make your program work and make it faster .. or 2018 is my last year with Microsoft and I will force myself to learn Linux and get rid of this for ever.

Amen to that brother.....I'm already using Linux Mint Mate 17.1 on an old Sony Vio Laptop. The learning curve is something less than desirable.

Good luck with that Tim, they have only been in the business since 1975 so they might need some more time!. :):):)

Linux isn't that much more complicated than Windblows, you just have to want to learn!. I use Ubuntu based systems mostly myself!. :)

Some examples here:

Linux Mint is good and so is Linux Lite which are both great for a beginner! (I would choose Linux Lite over Mint myself):

You could just use LibreOffice instead of MS Office. I suspect that is noticeably faster.

My main PC (2010 vintage I7-2600, 16Gb DDR3, 256Gb SSD Nvidia 630) runs as fast as ever through the various versions of W7 and then W10. Although to be fair it is slower than my wife's I5-7500 on a more modern Mobo with the 16Gb DDR4 and 256Gb SSD

My 2000 Dell P3 desktop has Windows 98se, 2000, & XP. My 2012 i3 Dell 6 GB RAM desktop had Windows 7, and then got the free Windows 10 upgrade. My 2004 Gateway P4 desktop used Ubuntu 10.04 > 12.04 > 14.04, and then Linux Mint 17.3. Both Dells which have MS Office products run great (and fast).

Before switching to Linux, you might want to visit the forums below and view the hundreds of problems that occur, some of which could be your new problems. I used Linux from 2010 to 2016 (PC connected to TV / Logitech k400r keyboard, PC died & got recycled). https://ubuntuforums.org/ https://forums.linuxmint.com/

Amen! I was thinking the very same sentiments today. The scary thing is, it's all falling on deaf ears. Redstone 4 is around the corner and I think Microsoft's goal with Fluent Design is to cripple every video card on the market. lol
