When I first upgraded to windows 10 anytime I plugged in headphones, a headset or a microphone a little box would pop up saying what did you just plug in and give me a list of options. I must have set something to the default because now windows always uses my webcam as my microphone regardless of what's plugged in

Is there a way to change this?

It probably was the driver software for whatever particular sound card/onboard sound you have. If it's on your motherboard, it's probably realtek or via. Windows will just install the basic driver. You'll need to find out the specific brand, and download it from their website.

In the start menu, click Settings and then "System"
Click "notifications and actions", and s
turn on "Show App Notifications", and "Show alarms..etc"
You should also have the action centre as "ON"

See if that helps.
