People App not recognizing contacts

My internet email account was loaded in Windows 10 and is working properly in Live Mail but my contacts from that account cannot be seen in the People App. I checked my Privacy settings and they are set properly and when I tried to add that email account in the People App directly, I get the message that the account already exists (but it still isn't show under the account list within the People App. Suggestions?

I have the exact same problem. It won't show the account, and won't let me set it up new.

I just tried an experiment - I loaded my outlook contacts to Google, then tried to load them to people. I'm getting the same response I have been getting about the account already being set up. This seems to me to be a major problem. Either no one is using People, or no one else but me and you have the problem. I've never had this many problems

I think I'm going to find another email client.
