Hello,

I made a stupid mistake and denied all permissions for my administrator account in the security tab of my "hosts" file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc).
I wanted to do the opposite obviously. Now I'm stuck as I can't touch the file anymore with my admin account and only the admin can edit permissions. I have a backup, but I can't delete or replace the file.

Can someone help out of this situation ?

Thanks for your reply.
The build in admin account is also locked out.
Third option doesn't work either as access is denied to the file.
I guess I'll have to do the repair install which is a little more tedious.

Thanks for your advice.

Well if the built-in Admin account couldn't fix it, it may take a complete Clean install to fix it. Maybe someone that knows CMD line language may have a fix? if so they'll likely chime in with the answer
