Personal Screen Recorder (PSR)

Does anyone know what happened to this that was included with Windows 7? Did they repackage it under a different name?

When I had windows 7 pro....I didn't see this at all. Nor have I ever heard of it.

Thanks! It was in Windows 7 Ultimate. I tried the Screen Recorder but it opened and closed ...

I have Win7 ultimate on one of my pc's but cannot find this screen recorder. I have a sound recorder though..

Also I have that step recorder bassfisher mentioned....

I agree with the above.

Typing psr into your search box and pressing enter opens the psr.exe which is and has always been the Personal Step Recorder that Microsoft has provided for some time now.

It's still present on Windows 10 via Start | Windows Accessories directory, or, as I just mentioned, by typing psr into search bar and hitting Enter

The software included with Windows 7 was mostly discontinued and either retired or replaced by built-in apps in later versions of Windows. Its functionality, including tools like a screen recorder, exists today under different names or is integrated into Windows 10/11.
