Hi,

What is the easiest and most direct way to put a link to a page, or web address, right
on the Desktop ?

Blame my ignorance on old age now, but just can't seem to do it.

Thanks,
B.

I grab the tiny icon on the left end of the URL/Address and drag to the Desktop, about the same as dragging it to the Bookmarks Toolbar in Firefox.

Hi Bob,

I just wanted to quickly jump in and recommend that you switch away from Safari (to Firefox, Chrome, Edge, etc...) as that browser hasn't been updated for Windows since 2012. It'll be very out of date in terms of compatibility, but there will likely be security vulnerabilities as there are no longer patches for it.

Hey gang not to beat this issue to death but that's why I still won't give up on windows 7. This drag and drop does not work on windows 10.

It still does for me on the very latest Version 1903 Build 18362.145. I never recommend things like this until I have first tested them.
