Well..... another less than elegant install.
One mandatory click of the Retry button, and then multiple cycling through pending, getting ready, initializing, downloading, installing, until finally it decided to just get on with it and complete.

Looks OK as far as I can tell, so we'll see what happens next week regarding any announcements or another build.

So it's definitely in the Canary Ring and I guess we'll see early next week if they release it or not.

Sometimes I wonder if the messages displayed on my screen actually have anything to do with what is really going on, on my machine or not.

I agree. Those updates, in particular. Downloading when it isn't. Installing when it isn't...etc etc.

    Exactly.
The circle of spinning dots is probably just as informative and accurate.

This downloaded by itself and after I finally allowed restart, installed fastest ever (because I really did not want it)

Yes..... the post restart has remained pretty consistent throughout these recent builds, rarely more than 20 minutes of so and that's on some pretty ancient hardware.
It's all the time before that, that seems to fluctuate some, including some instances where it seems to almost start over, often more than once.
I suppose I could just start it and minimize it and forget about it, although there has been more than one occasion where I've actually had to click the "Retry" button.

I always have to click retry. I have tried many different times but nothing ever works except clicking on it.
