[Trouble]

NOVEMBER 12, 2019 2:03 PM today we’re releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19023 (20H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

The date on their blog is the 12th but I check this stuff almost daily if not more often and this was the first time I saw it.

Rebooted and tried again and it seems to be downloading now.

One of the longest overall download / installs in a long time but I finally got it

I discovered my data sharing was too narrow and had to allow Microsoft to change settings to be able to receive the latest Insider offering.

If anyone else is not seeing it offered when checking for updates, go to the Windows Insider Program and see whether its prompting you to Fix an issue.

I was told by some folks the build version was suppose to change after the prior build was released to the public.. So why is it still showing 1903? Is it because when that build was being developed or because 1909 was just an extension of 1903, since in the registry it references 10.18363.18362.476 quite often..

After seeing Version 1903 Build 18363.476 I rebooted and checked again for updates which then offered Version 1909 Build 18363.476 and installed rather quickly.

Insider fasttrack

I am enrolled in win 10 insider fast track, all up to date but enter system and about, still says 1903. Any tips? Thank you, Dave

Disregard my post, didn't realize this is for the Insider Preview. I'm on an RTM machine now and will check my IP computers a little later.

Don't know yet why the Version number has not changed for the Fast Ring but this is what I have on both now:

I got stuck on the Slow ring and could not get any of my drives changed to the Fast ring, so I installed Windows on my oldest hard drive and jumped through a lot of hoops to finally be able to update to 19023. Just now Windows did not know I was an insider and wanted me to use Bing which I have no intention of doing. I too needed to adjust my account to get this update. Finally got 19023 but got tired of changing so many programs to get that drive the way I wanted. I doubt I will fool with the Fast ring any more if I get this much nonsense.

I know now why the build number did not change. It seems 1909 is to 1903 as SP1 was to Windows 7. Same build with just an update.

The frequency at which new insider builds are coming out might give some credence to the December rumor..
