I have no idea what shockwave Flash is so I don't know where to put this question. Please redirect if necessary. Recently this message has popped up, usually while I am reading one of several newspapers. It suggests I reload. What do i do to fix this problem. thank you..

Adobe Shockwave Player https://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
AND
Adobe Flash Player https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
Are two different software products
The cumulative update yesterday, I believe included an update to the integrated Flash Player "Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3157993)"
So you might check you Windows Updates and see if that installed
AND
Depending on which product is actually at fault in your case, reinstalling one or the other might help.
AND
Some additional information regarding Flash Player can be found here
https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-10-ie.html
Which might apply.

The newspaper page that you are reading is probably trying to load one of those annoying auto playing videos. If you actually want to watch the videos than follow Trouble's suggestion. Personally I have download extensions to keep those annoying videos from playing.

Thank you for that very informative answer. The update for the integrated flash has been installed on my computer. I read the bottom article and performed the flash test. The result said "you are not running Internet Explorer". However, I imported these newspapers from my favorites in Internet Explorer. Does that mean I am using IE and not CHROME when reading these papers and therefore creating this problem.

IDK.... it might mean that you are using Edge.
It is the default browser out of the box for Windows 10.
You might want to purposely run Internet Explorer and experiment with the same web pages to see what happens.
Click the Start Button -> All Apps -> Windows Accessories -> Internet Explorer
IF you are in fact using "Chrome" I'm pretty sure that it also has Flash Player integrated so you don't need to side load it. You might want to check and see which version of Chrome you are using.

Not sure if this might address some part of your problem or not, but.....
There was yet another update for Adobe Flash Player today Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3163207)
So you might want to check Windows Updates and see what you got, if it..... or possibly a reboot is pending.

Checked several things you you suggested. I have never used Edge due to so many problems with Windows 10 from the start. IE is in Windows Accessories as you said. I am using Google Chrome ver50.0.2661.02, installed on 2/15/15. Control panel shows Adobe flash ver21.0.0.242 was installed on 5/12/16 but nothing is indicated for KB3152599 in my update history. I will wait until it happens again and then see if I can trace the problem. Thanks for your help.
