Hi,

I keep getting a message that this software wants me to download it. It only started to appear on start up a week or so ago.
Can anyone tell me what this software is? And if it is safe to use.

I found this when I Googled your problem..by this site it shows malware characteristics..so I would hold off clicking on it.
Do a full system scan with Malwarebytes and Defender or whatever other antivirus you use and check the results.

My above suggestion was to remove it if it is indeed malware or a virus... generally if you have a pop-up asking you to download something it is malware or some sort of an infection..hence doing the scans I suggested with any number of free anti-malware software should rid you of the pop-ups

The update is associated with the program Stagelight by Openlabs, used for making music http://us.openlabs.com/ If you do not need it, you may remove the program using Windows Uninstall Programs. The popup will then cease.
