There are certain sound inputs that I do not wish to use.
So, I disable them.
However, when I reboot my computer all of them are active again.
How can I make them permanently inactive?

Can you explain how you do this?
Do you disable them in device manager or do you simply mute them in the volume mixer.
I open "play-record" , click on "record" aNd that opens a list of recording inputs. One of them shows the default I want to use and the rest show as "ready". I right click all the ones I don't want, one at a time and click on "disable". They are then disabled until the next time I reboot. Does that answer you question?
