Start Menu Doesn't Show Settings

Having lots of issues with 10. left click on Start Menu doesn't respond, search doesn't respond, can't find settings!
I need help!

Hold the Windows Logo key on the bottom left of your keyboard and strike the R key and in the run dialog box type
ms-settings:settings
hit enter or click OK.
Does that produce "Settings"

thanks. it produces settings but not on the start menu. and as i said, left clicking does not open start menu.
also since downloading 10, can't find former word or excell documents or icons

Please use that to get to settings and then from the settings screen check Update & Security icon for any pending Windows updates.
