After I installed KB3118754 and restarted my laptop and checked for updates, the store queued 3 apps updates (store, Xbox and messaging + Skype). It said downloading 0.2mb of 0.2mb for store and messaging. After a while, there were suddenly nine apps queued for updates with nothing being downloaded or installed. It's been like this for two days now. What's the solution for this? By the way, I can still use my laptop.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I had a similar experience.
I simply did a System Restore to a point in time prior to the update installation.
After the reboot, I check the Store and checked for app updates, made sure all was well, which it was.
Then manually check for Windows Updates, installed the update again. Rebooted, check the store, checked for app updates, all was well after that.
Hopefully, something similar might work for you.
