My Dell XPS connects to wifi but gives a "connection timed out" error when I go to internet. My laptop and iPhone connect to internet with no problem . Desktop times out even if side by side with laptop or cell phone. Do I need a new wireless adapter for the desktop? Thanks.

switch the WiFi on the laptop off then back on again which tends to help!.

I have the latest version of Win 10. My laptop is working fine. The problem is with my Dell XPS desktop. Switching wifi off and on is not a solution. Do you know if the wireless adapter in my desktop is a possible cause of the internet timeout problem??

It might be but I really don't know?. It could be that the hardware isn't compatible with W10?.
