Recently had to dump old Windows 10 and buy a new one. In the old one I could have two web sites from the internet open at the same time. In the new one I cannot.

Not sure what you mean exactly, but in most cases you can either choose a link, right click it and select open in new window, or you can grab a tab and drag it off your browser and it should generate a new browser window.
Use internet explorer and test as I'm not sure how Edge works regarding this issue..... all I'm certain of is, at this point, I don't particularly care how Edge works. I'll wait till it grows up and becomes an adult browser.
If you only have a single monitor, hold the Windows logo key and hit the left arrow on your keyboard to snap IE against the left side of your screen, to give yourself some room to work.
