Meanwhile, I can still acess MSN if I use Firefox or on Chrome in a different notebook. WHat gives?

It sounds like that is a remote problem (due to the wording), but it is strange that it doesn't work in just the one browser - do you have any extensions enabled? It may be they have updated DNS entries and Chrome is looking at the old location, so you may need to wait it out (~24h max usually).

Can you try visiting the secure version of the site instead and see if that works please?:

https://www.msn.com (note the https instead of http)
