SOLVED Unable to sign out of Hotmail

In all the years I've been using Windows I've never had this problem before.

When I say I can't sign out.... it tells me that I am signed out, but when I click the desktop icon it takes me to Hotmail signed in!
Big problem because when my wife wants to use Hotmail she has to sign me out first.
Not that I have anything to hide, just dammed annoying.

I hope someone can help.

Hi ScrumpyJoe,

The only thing I can think of is you may have accidently logged into Windows with your Hotmail Account.

If that is the case then:

• Press Winkey + I to open Settings window
• Click on Accounts
• In left pane click Your email and accounts
• In right pane click Sign in with a local account instead
• Do the adjustments necessary and apply change

I have not used Hotmail in years but they used to have a "Keep me signed in" tracking cookie for sign ins, so perhaps if they still do this you will need to clear your cookies which may be corrupted and thus making the system believe you are still signed in.
