SOLVED Updates doing the funky chicken

This started yesterday afternoon,when I run WU it's just keeps scanning and does nothing..I wait and wait and it never seems to finish.So I reboot and it is all of a sudden downloading one Defender update that again seems to take an eternity,,it finally installed it after about 15 minutes of "patiently" waiting but it did it again this afternoon with another Defender update.Anyone else experiencing their updates doing the funky chicken?

is it 5 yet?...must be 5 somewhere...cheers!

 

[Trouble]

I typically let that stuff run in the background and enjoy my blissful ignorance as to how long it takes or if it is successful or not.
Unless I receive some notification or such or on the second Tuesday of the month, I'll generally leave it to the automagic gremlins.
