Hello, I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium at the moment and have done so for almost 10 years. I recently came across some posts that you can still, in 2019, upgrade to Windows 10 with your Windows 7 product key. I have my product key and I installed the Windows 10 Setup from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.
After that I chose "Upgrade this PC now" and it asked for my Windows 7 product key. But after I entered my Windows 7 product key, it said that it's not a valid key and I couldn't continue. I found people saying that even in September 2019 they were able to upgrade from 7 to 10, did I do something wrong or should the upgrade by done in some other manner?

When asked for the product key try skipping this.
Ensure you have a system image backup via Macrium Reflect or another disk imaging software in case of problems.
