Ok - big issue - not sure in their wisdom they (Microsoft) have created a solution yet .. since win8 they want you to sign into win with your email address .. fine - but more importantly NOW than phone # portability is EMAIL portability .. we change email like we change our socks ... I want to change service providers and will lose the email account for which I sign into everything with ..
.. so I created a new Microsoft account with a new email - I create a new user on the computer - WHAT A WASTE of resources ... but hey - with 100s (and I do mean 100s) of MB in updates weekly - doenst seem like anyone is concerned with resources anymore ..

but to my point - is there a way to copy all of the settings, permissions (EVERYTHING) from one user account to another
(then maybe delete the former- of course I know you can remove a user acct) ???

Good morning Tim. A long time ago I ran into a similar situation when I changed ISP's and lost email addresses in the process. I set up a hotmail account which is now Outlook to use as a permanent address since they are not dependent on an ISP and I use one of them for things such as my Microsoft account.

done exactly that
created both an outlook and google account

I had tried buying as domain that provided an email forward .. seemed to be okay for awhile
then started to notice I wasn't getting the emails anymore .. contacted then and was
told the email forward was a free courtesy - no guarantee - no kidding - so now
going with the outlook account as primary ..
